In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a certified ESE (K-12) and General Education (K-6) Teacher working with the Duval County Public Schools. I have experience teaching students with varying exceptionalities. Furthermore, I have worked for 7 years with students with ADD/ADHD, putting together their Individual Education Plans closely with other experts and parents to see that the students are successful. In addition, I have continuously attended trainings to remain current on various interventions for both behaviors and Academics.
As an ESE teacher, I have worked with at least 2 students with Aspergers. By working closely with the parents and other therapists, we were able to make some interventions so that they made academic gains. I hold a Master's in Education with Varying Exceptionalities as my major.
