I am an engineering student with a degree from UF in environmental engineering and am currently completing a BS and MS in civil engineering at UNF.
I have tutored before and can assist in all math up through calculus. I can tutor all high school level sciences and college level physics, chemistry, and biology as well as some specialized sciences that lend themselves to engineering i.e. problem solving, logic, resource management, and computing.
I work as a hazardous materials consultant with three years experience and attend class every day. My schedule is flexible outside of these constraints, I prefer evenings and weekends.
I am a nice guy, easy to get along with and dedicated to projects to which I set my mind. I will work with you until you have a solid understanding of the subject material. Josh is very intelligent with math and science and knows how to explain problems very clearly. He is patient and helps you to understand even the most confusing concepts!
My son was impressed with Josh. He was very detailed and easy to understand. I can tell he's definitely knowledgeable with the subject. I'm positive that my son will improve his grades. We are looking forward to many tutoring days with him. I absolutely recommend him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BS in Civil Engineering from UNF and some credit towards a master's degree. Engineering is at its heart applied science and math. I have tutored civil engineering (universal engineering really) courses such as statics, dynamics, and structures and am more than well equipped to help prospective engineering students with their lower and upper division courses.
I have taken organic chemistry I and II at UF with what is defined by their academic terms as much success. I have an understanding of how intermolecular forces affect chemical reactions with organic molecules as well as familiarity with the major reaction mechanisms, SN1, SN2, S1, and S2. I regularly tutor in chemistry and organic chemistry, while having completely separate difficulties, relies heavily on the foundations of college chemistry; the idea of ion transfer, resonance structures, orbital geometry, and equilibrium.
