I have taught in Virginia for 15 years. I'm certified to teach preK-6th grade in all subjects. I have tutored students through 12th grade in English and Social studies. I have also assisted homebound middle and high school students. I have tutored for 15 years as well.

I have an undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in women's studies. My elementary education degree is a post-baccalaureate certificate as a master's degree was not offered at my local university when I went back to school. I have been a classroom teacher, a reading and math interventionist, and my classrooms have been collaborative including exceptional education students at both ends of the learning continuum.

I have used assigned curriculum when necessary as well as adapting and differentiating material when it's beneficial to the student(s). When hands on learning is an option, I do my best to employ that choice. I taught online for 18 months during the pandemic. I used Google Meet, Zoom, Seesaw, Google Slides, videos, interactive whiteboards, and other tools to keep my students engaged. I have taught preK-5th during my 15 years in the classroom. I have volunteered with students of those ages as well as older students.
