About Robyn

I am a special education teacher who specializes in working with children on the autism spectrum. I have a Masters degree in special education and hold a valid Massachusetts licensure for Moderate Special Needs Pre-K to 8. My background also encompasses using ABA techniques during teaching sessions. In addition to teaching and modifying in the Massachusetts Frameworks (Common Core) I used the ABA methodology as the focus of my classroom. I have an extensive background in creating MCAS-ALT portfolios ( the replacement assessment for students not taking PARCC or the MCAS). I have experience in creating and running discrete trial training programs, incidental and natural response teaching, implementing behavior plans, data collection, token reward systems as well as ABA therapy. I am also familiar with data collection.

I have 14 years experience teaching children ages 2-22. I have worked in public/private schools, inclusion an substantially separate classrooms, home therapy, residential care, and therapy provided in a clinical setting. I specialize in working on the area of functional academics (math, English language arts, social skills, life skills). I also have an extensive background and knowledge in creating implementing IEP goals.

As a substantially sub-separate classroom, I was responsible for teaching all subjects (I,e, math, reading and reading comprehension, social studies, life skills, and social skills) with substantial modifications. I am also trained in creating activity schedules which help students become more independent when working on academic, vocational, and leisure skills. I believe in the importance of teaching children with special needs basic life skills to help them to become as independent as possible as they move toward becoming adults.

I am new to the area. My hours can be flexible and am available on weekends. I look forward to meeting and working with new students,

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
