I have been teaching at FIU since 2011. I love and live for teaching. The majority of my students (around 600 per year) learn a lot based on their evaluations. In 2015 I won a faculty achievement award for my excellence in teaching from FIU. I only recently started tutoring but I am also enjoying this quite a bit. I enjoy teaching on any level and in any capacity.
My undergraduate majors included: English, Women's Studies, Middle Eastern and Religious Studies. My masters's was in Religious Studies with a concentration on the Islamic world. I have a pretty well balanced cultural background that allows me to help within many humanities courses.
I am a fluent and native Spanish speaker. I have learned many foreign languages like French and Arabic in a classroom setting and understand how to structure the process of learning a language both grammatically and conversationally.
Currently I am an adjunct Professor for the FIU Religious Studies department and I teach about all the major world religions.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
