I am one of those people that likes spending time tutoring children. I find it very rewarding. My expertise is K-6th grade specializing in math and reading. I have a lot of patience which is required when you are tutoring. I relate well to children and understand their needs. They have special needs and require attention and someone to listen to them. I am there to help the child with their education and talk and laugh and relate to them, and help them learn in areas where they are deficient. I really feel that each child is special and they all have their own needs. I am there to help them the best way that I can.
I have a certification in Early Childhood Education. I enjoy teaching children of many ages. I worked with another tutoring agency and started with them in May 2012. I am still enrolled with them but some of their government grants got pulled. I mainly taught 3rd-5th graders in math and reading. I was also a single mother and I tutored my son throughout his school years due to the fact that he was in special classes. I also had a temp job with an agency recently where we taught English to Latin Americans over the internet in a live classroom setting. We focused on grammar, reading, pronunciation, and understanding of the English language. Very little Spanish was spoken. I found it to be very interesting and an enjoyable experience. The students were very nice and very eager to learn.
I also have a business background with several jobs in accounting. I processed credits and debits and was responsible for various invoices as well. I also processed monthly, quarterly, and year end closings. I also worked on the yearly budgets. I am one of those people that likes spending time tutoring children. I find it very rewarding. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a certification in Early Childhood Education. I enjoy working with children and have a lot of patience. I have worked as a tutor before. I am currently signed up with another agency since May of last year. I also worked with a temp agency teaching English to Latin American students over the internet in a class room setting. In my previous jobs I have accounting experience processing invoices, credits and debits, and was responsible for monthly, quarterly, and year end closings. That makes my math stronger. I think I a can be an asset to your company and look forward to proving that to you and your clients.
I believe that good study skills come from good habits such as having self discipline and having the correct environment for studying. This would include such things as, an appropriate table and chair, good lighting and a quiet environment. Time management is a necessity in regard to accomplishing tasks on time. I had to apply good study skills when I was studying for my Bachelor's degree and I feel that I achieved my goal due to having good study skill attributes.
During my college studies I had to discipline myself everyday. I took independent study classes. These classes required more discipline in order to pass the classes. You must put aside your assignments and extra time for studying. This extra time was because you did not attend a class it was an "independent study structure."
I feel that the classes helped me a lot with discipline and improved my study skills immensely. In order to have good study methods you needed structure and a lot of discipline.
First you must make a outline of what you will need to learn. For example the book, its subject, and appropriate chapters to read, understanding and comprehending each lesson. Second the lectures and teacher's notes. Again understanding and comprehending all of the material. Third and final, preparation of the material to write a term paper and prepare for a final exam. This is where you need to be sure you did read your material assigned, and also to read the lecture notes the teacher left you. You have to be sure your covered everything and left nothing out.
Taking an independent course requires so much extra discipline and good study skills. You are not going to a classroom everyday and being reminded by your teacher or fellow students what to read and study. You must allocate your time properly to allow yourself the time to read and study, allowing yourself the necessary time to dedicate to your class to ensure you are prepared to prepare your term paper and take and pass your final exam.
Having good study habits makes up having and finding just the right time, appropriate discipline and determination. You have to give of yourself the dedication of time needed to accomplish your ultimate goal of passing your class. Finally accomplishing your goal of passing that class with a great grade of an A the best you can achieve.
