Hello! I'm Michael, a recent college graduate. I graduated with a 3.67 GPA (Magna Cum Laude) from Lynn University with a B.S. in Psychology, also having taken numerous classes on Criminal Justice Business. I worked in the school library for three years while doing my studies and often helped students, both graduate and undergraduate with their papers. Now that I've graduated, I'm I'm currently attending Florida International University, for a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling.

I do have a fair amount of experience tutoring various individuals. I've worked with both male and female individuals with dyslexia and dyspraxia for the past six years, through high school and college, and I've had plenty of experience tutoring fellow students and out-of-school individuals with a variety of topics. As of 2016, I've tutored individuals in Business Modeling with Excel, Criminal Justice, English, SPSS (statistics), Test Prep, History, and Criminal Justice. I've learned over the years that every person has their own unique way of going about things, and I've also learned how to adapt to how a person prefers to learn, whether that be visual, written, auditory, or otherwise.

I understand that school can be difficult, especially when it comes to test-time, and I'm more than happy to help anyone with any struggles they're having. If someone needs more help, I'm more than willing to sit with them and help them through any difficult or tricky steps. I try and make it a point that the people I help with classes understand what they're doing when my time with them is done.

English

I've been tutoring English for the past five years, from middle school to college level. I'm a Psychology major, which requires a very firm grasp of how to write clearly and in an organized way. My tutees, and my own papers, more often than not receive 85%+ grades on papers.
SAT Reading,

SAT Reading

Reading portions of tests have always been my highest scoring portion, whether it be the SAT, FCAT, or the comprehension sections of the GRE. Before Wyzant, I've tutored a handful of individuals in test prep, which included increasing reading comprehension, finding main ideas, and critical thinking skills. All of my tutees showed around a 20% improvement in class and on tests.
SAT Writing,

SAT Writing

My college and graduate major both require extensive amounts of professional writing, meant to be both clear and concise, and my work is under constant peer review to stay that way. In the past few months, I've had more than one student go from a D or F to a B or above under my tutelage. I tend to help students master each area of writing at their pace, then bring it all together to write a strong essay.

The nature of my graduate and undergraduate degrees, as well as my job working with special needs children, requires very precise, organized writing skills.

History

World History,

World History

World History is a hobby of mine, grown by years of study from books and professors. Besides what I've learned from classes, most of my knowledge has come from historical summaries and memoirs from that particular time period- including Napoleon' s memoirs, David Chandler's books, Clausewitz's and Jomini's treatises, and soldier accounts.

Psychology

I've recently graduated from school with my B.S. in Psychology, having completed the degree a year early with a 3.7 GPA in my core classes. Much of the work is very study-heavy, and dependent on knowing many different terms and actions. Having done this myself and having helped multiple classmates over the three years, I've become used to Psychology tutoring.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

While working towards my Master's in Mental Health Counselling, I've had the pleasure to work with multiple children on the Autism spectrum. The children I've worked with have had speech problems, difficulties expressing emotions, temper tantrums, and elopement tendencies. For the soon to be year-and-a-half I've been working with the children to reduce or positively modify these behaviors while working on school assignments with them.
