Florida State University (English Literaure)
Nova Southeastern University (Master's)
I have a Masters from Nova Southeastern University and a degree in English Literature from Florida State University. I am currently a high school English teacher with 18 years of experience in both the middle school and high school setting. As a result of my students' high achievement and outstanding level of professionalism, I was the overall Teacher of the Year at my school during the 2011-2012 school year. I have received Highly Effective ratings from both the district and state levels.
As a result of my deep passion for the teaching and learning process, I enjoy assisting students in realizing the joy of reading, the beauty in writing and the art of communication. I am a master at making learning an enjoyable experience by modifying lessons and making them relatable to all students. My belief is that if the student doesn't understand then I must change my plan.
I am generally available Mon-Fri 10 am to 5 pm. I can travel to students, to the nearest library or meet them online. Contact me for more details. I look forward to hearing and meeting with you in the near future. I have a Masters from Nova Southeastern University and a degree in English Literature from Florida State University. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
