I enjoy working with children and helping them piece together information to create a bigger picture. I particularly love the look on a child's face in the moment they are able to gather different sources of information to come to a conclusion on their own. I understand that the process leading to the understanding is extremely important for a child when learning, as well as establishing a unique approach that works best for their thought process. I am very good at explaining concepts, using a number of real life examples to help the child connect to the information so they are better able to build long term habits that will lead to a better overall understanding.
Fun fact, in my spare time I am a volunteer soccer coach for the Miramar Police Athletic League, so building confidence is very important to me, as well as keying in on special skills. Also a fun fact about me is that I am very particular about the presentation of my handwriting. I sometimes will write a series of random sentences and phrases just to see the pleasant penmanship on the paper.
My pronunciation is very good. I can teach students to pronounce a word by breaking it down into smaller parts, sounding it out, and putting the smaller parts back together into one word.

When I was just in Elementary school myself, I was the President of the Future Educator's of America, helping students in the grades below me with reading and handwriting. I have a little sister who is now in 8th grade, that I tutored when she was in Elementary school, and still do when she needs it now.
I personally played soccer, navigating the field between the different positions. I understand what each position requires from the player, as well as the team as a whole. My best work revolves around building a team up to work together, as well as build their specific skills in a group manner. Conditioning is a key component of soccer in order to build endurance.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
