Learning new things is a true passion of mine. This passion has led to a career of sharing this knowledge with students. Having taught middle, high and college level courses, I have the ability to make Science easy to understand for students of all levels by using real life analogies that relate to students' individual interests.
I specialize in Chemistry and Biology for high school students and Earth, Life and Physical Sciences for middle school students. Having previously prepared students for End of Course exams(EOCs)in Biology and Chemistry and FCAT science, I know what students need to be successful and can provide practice questions to help them prepare for such exams.
Prior to starting, I provide a 15 minute complimentary consultation to assess where each student is, which may include a short survey, find out their interests and how they learn and process information. I have tremendous respect for students' education and as such will not bill for a session in which a parent or student is not completely satisfied.
My goal for each session is to ensure that students understand and enjoy learning about science and are progressing appropriately. I will provide progress reports, assessments and practice problems to demonstrate student's progression.
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy, however I do offer makeup classes.
To ensure students have a comfortable learning environment, I am happy to travel to a location that is convenient for the student.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you love and understand Science.

She helped a lot, I went from not understanding anything to having a good idea in just 2 hours.
My son was struggling with Chemistry. Jo Nell tutored my son for 2 hours and he got an A on the next test. She is patient, knowledgeable and is a very experienced teacher. I would definitely recommend her and this service. I was very satisfied.

Jo Nell was very patient with my daughter and made her feel as if chemistry was manageable. I would highly recommend.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
