I have tutored all ages from elementary to graduate students. I have a minor in English and music. I am a certified teacher with Broward County. My goal is to make lesson understandable, enjoyable, and clear. I'm extremely patient and have experience with special needs, ESOL, and gifted individuals. Dedication, patience, and adjusting to the specific needs of students are a few of my methods when tutoring. Each individual has his/her own learning style, and I try to cater to whatever that may be. Some students need the information to be applied to everyday situations, whereas others simply are visual learners. Children in particular, respond better with visual stimulation and rewards. Whatever your specific learning need may be, my technique will be customized to meet you where you are. I look forward to working with you.

Adobe Photoshop,

Adobe Photoshop

I have taught 2d-animation and graphic design for 3 years. This class uses Adobe Photoshop as its primary computer program. Photoshop's principal image manipulation procedures are: contrast and brightness control, color balance and correction and the use of filter algorithms to provide image blur, despeckle, sharpening, unsharp masking, and dust and scratch removal. With practice, the toolbox allows for the elimination of parts of the image, and the paintbrush and pipette to fill in.
Theater

Theater

Being a person who loves the arts I have been involved in theatre for many years. In college coursework included theatre appreciation, acting for non-majors, script writing, etc. I have participated in several plays such as Broadway Bound, As You Like It, Grapes of Wrath, etc. I have also composed and performed several monologues, poems, scenes, and skits. In my spare time I directed several plays in my college career. I was an aid who taught acting 101 while a professor supervised my progress through bi-weekly verbal reports.

Algebra is translated to mean the "reunion of broken parts". It is the branch of mathematics that studies of the rules of operations and relations, and the concepts involved with this. Certain topics in Algebra include: polynomials, equations and algebraic structures. Algebra involves so many branches of math. For example: geometry, analysis of functions and number theory. I try to make this process as simple as possible.

ASVAB,

ASVAB

The ASVAB tests are designed to measure aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial. For this particular test practice literally makes perfect. nMy strategy is simple: we take a pre-test and access students strengths and weaknesses. We continue to increase strengths and focus on weaknesses. Tackle and master the test in sections. The ASVAB is a multiple choice test so tips/strategies on how to take these forms of tests are also taught. For example: how to weed out incorrect answers or what to do when more then one answer appears correct.

I've tutored the TEAS for the past two years. I have a minor in English so I am over qualified to address the sections (paragraph and passage comprehension and drawing conclusions, grammar and punctuation, and spelling.) I have been a teachers aid in college math courses through Calculus with applied physics. The math section contains fairly basic math problems (whole numbers, fractions and decimals, percentages and proportion). Finally I am a med student so the science is familiar to me. Some areas include biology, chemistry, and anatomy all of which I have tutored in. My TEAS students have all given me positive feedback and have done well on the exam.

Very knowledgeable tutor

We tried 2 tutors prior to Caroline for our son who was struggling with Algebra 1. After 2 lessons with Caroline, Jason has learned in areas he did not previously understand and he is very enthusiastic to continue working with Caroline. She does a great job with keeping him focused and he says she explains things very well. This is positive and we look forward to seeing him progress with his testing.

Providing Confidence and Focus

After only two 1 hour sessions, not only has Caroline provided my son with functional knowledge in math but with the confidence and focus he was lacking before, and all during winter break! I'm excited to continue the sessions with her and see the hard work come to fruition on his upcoming quiz when we get back from break! Thanks Caroline!

Great Tutor

My son said, "She's better than my teacher. She makes it easy to understand." This is after one lesson. That was enough to convince me. I can see she genuinely enjoys helping my son.

Awesome Tutor!

Caroline is a very knowledgeable tutor. I hired her tutoring services to help my daughter prep for an Honors Algebra Final Test. Immediately after the first lesson, my daughter was excited about her upcoming test and went on to tell my how now she understands Substitution problems among other ones because Caroline made it easy for her to understand it and learn it. I will definitely recommend her to anyone. She knows here stuff.
