College of Charleston (Charleston, SC) (Master's)
I hold a Master's of Science degree in Marine Biology from the College of Charleston and a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Florida State University. My teaching experience includes Introductory Biology I & II Labs (at CofC) and Courses (at FSU) and Molecular Biology at CofC. I was a Biology tutor for two years while completing my undergraduate degree at FSU and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of helping fellow students.
I have hosted students participating in job shadowing events while working on my thesis research and feel that working with students that are interested in Biology (or just want to learn about different careers) is very rewarding. I enjoy teaching, communicating, and working with others. My child was tutored by Casey for AP Biology. She gave him the confidence he needed to be successful. She is extremely patient and supportive. She is very responsive and reliable. I highly recommend Casey as a tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
