As a Florida Certified teacher working in South Florida, I have the privilege of teaching multicultural students. Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of varied learning styles/modalities is my focus. Whole group instruction in school may not be enough for your student, and a one-on-one student centered approach may help them excel and reach their learning goals. I have taught 8th grade physical science for 5 years, but have experience in Language Arts as well; Elementary K-6 Math and Reading, and algebra and geometry.
Having attended the University of Florida and graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences and having taken coursework in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Nova Southeastern University, I also can tutor for psychology or any human services college level course.
My in person rate is $90/hr and online rate is $45/hr. I can also offer multi subject tutoring packages, rates can be discussed upon our first session.
My students have scored 4 and 5 on FCAT Science for 4 years in a row and I can teach 6-8 grades sciences.
Have taken over 60 credits worth of psychology/human development courses, including but not limited to: Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Marriage and Family Counseling, Adolescent Psychology, Human Services, Family Systems, Group Counseling, Human Sexuality, and Gender and Conflict.
I have experience teaching pre-school VPK and have taught 6-8th grade Intensive Reading. I have experience tutoring students having trouble with fractions, proportions, area, perimeter, and am confident I could help any elementary school student succeed in math.
I look forward to meeting with you and sharing my passion for education and learning with you. Remember, knowledge is power.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
