Teaching for me is not just a job, it is a mission. While most teachers claim their responsibility, as a teacher, is to do their best to present the lesson to the student, I see it differently. My responsibility is not just to teach, but to make sure that the student learns.
My first official teaching assignment was more than thirty years ago. This was outside of the United State where I taught grades seven, eight nine ten and eleven. Note, grade eleven in that setting was equivalent to grade twelve in the United State. With this in mind I am bringing to the table, years of experience of both traditional classroom instructional methods and techniques and none classroom approaches. My instructional task has never been bounded and will never be bounded by the four walls of a classroom or the two covers of a text book. It has been my approach to introduce the student to the vast reservoir of knowledge which exists from our immediate surroundings to the most elaborate museum and archives of the printed pages.
Currently I do teach in the Adult Education Department of the Palm Beach School District, where I prepare students for the GED examination. Over the past three years I have helped many students to accomplish their goals. I have worked with students who tested as low as the fourth or fifth grade levels on entering the program and within a year I was able to celebrate the GED victory with them. Students who hate mathematics have come to love it after a few sessions. It is my determination to continue to work with students of all grade levels to complete High School and move on to higher educational challenges. By combing knowledge with test taking techniques my students do have an advantage which is reflected in their passing rates. Teaching for me is not just a job, it is a mission. While most teachers claim their responsibility, as a teacher, is to do their best to present the lesson to the student, I see it differently. My responsibility is not just to teach, but to make sure that the student learns.

We are very impressed with Ray. After working with our son, he was quickly able to determine what he needed and what he was missing. After just one session, my son was literally on track and passed two Algebra exams with B's!!!!!
Ray has been able to explain the concepts and "golden rules" thoroughly and our son's understanding is noticeable.
Ray is very knowledgeable, patient, profession and reliable. Thank you Ray!!!!
Has help our student tremendously. He is much more confident speaking English and has expanded his vocabulary.
Ray is always on time and make the lessons fun and useful.
Ray S have tutored me through high school, math and was especially helpful in preparing me for the ACT test. I was way behind in math and with his help I was able to accomplish years of work in just a few months. His last session with me really gave me the confidence to do a college entrance test and gave me top scores. I would recommend Ray S not just as an excellent math teacher but as an overall teacher.
