About Daniel

My name is Daniel and I have a BS degree in biology from Winthrop University in Rock Hill SC. I graduated with a Master's degree in biology at Winthrop in May 2015. I have had an extensive amount of research experience and I have presented at state, regional, and national meetings. I have also given talks at Winthrop and presented in numerous poster sessions. I have helped fellow classmates when studying for exams. I have also tutored three other students from a local community college. Additionally I taught an Anatomy and Physiology lab at a community college in Rock Hill, SC before accepting a job as a Sr. Biological Scientist and Microscopy Lab Manager, which allowed us to accomplish our dream to move to Central Florida. I love biology and what it can offer the world. I also encourage education at all levels. I have a beautiful and loving wife, an awesome five year old son, a goofy dog and a cat that thinks he is human. I look forward to working with you. Genetics

I have taken courses in genetics and used principles of experimental genetics in my research. A study of the historical and contemporary aspects of the science of heredity including patterns and modes of inheritance, fundamental aspects of molecular genetics and an introduction to the methods and applications of recombinant DNA technologies, understanding go the molecular basis of life, the structure and function of macromolecules, synthesis and interactions of biologically important molecules, molecular genetics, biochemical energetics, enzymatics, and molecular mechanisms in biological systems. This course is intended for students who plan to enter into a health-professional graduate program (medical school, veterinary school, dental school, medical technology), or a graduate program in biology.

Microbiology

I am currently teaching a college level microbiology class. I have experience in Microbiology and have take one course and done additional research using microbiological principles. I can help in the following areas of microbiology - Aseptic technique and laboratory techniques, all aspect of microbial metabolism and structure, antibiotic response and uses, disease and healthy bacterial fauna, history of microbiology, and characteristics of bacteria in terms of phylogenetics. I can provide an introductory survey of microbial activities, environment, diversity and economic importance, bacterial and viral activities, bacteria replication, and the differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.

Physiology

I am qualified to tutor in this subject because I hold a BS in biology and I will have my MS in December. I have extensive biology research experience. I have completed courses in anatomy and physiology as well as taught anatomy and physiology as an adjunct instructor for a local community college.

Psychology

While I attained my BS in biology, my minor was in psychology. My focus was on behavioral analysis and conditioning. I have taken courses in general psychology, biological psychology, conditioning, behavioral analysis and change, and Research methods and statistics.

Soccer

I played soccer from elementary school through middle school and I coached on season of park and recreation soccer age 12 and up in Rock Hill.

Zoology

I have worked in the field of zoology for the past 6 years. I can teach the following principles of zoology - Phylogentic placement of organisms, characteristics of groups, evolution, physiology and structure of all orders, experienced in dissection of organisms, classification, and metabolism, comparisons of representatives of the major animal phyla with emphasis on anatomy, physiology, lifestyle and life history.
