Bio

Hello! My name is Robert and I'm currently enrolled in the Master of Health Administration Program at UCF! In my spare time, I enjoy going to the movies (The Conjuring 2 is still the greatest film ever created), spending time with friends and family, and sneaker shopping (although I spend the majority of my time wearing Yeezy Foam Runners, otherwise known as overpriced Crocs).

With a current GPA of 3.9, I am exceedingly knowledgeable in English, as I have excelled in both AP courses in high school as well as my writing-intensive courses in college. I have earned 'A' grades in Journalism, Public Speaking, Developmental Reading and Writing, Introduction to Literature, English Composition 1 and 2, and Introduction to Human Antiquities, amongst others. That said, I'm also capable of and exceedingly comfortable helping formulate essays in APA format!

I understand some of the struggles that may arise when reading or writing, I see a lot of them daily with my younger brother. With that being said, I possess the abilities necessary to assist you in surpassing your academic goals. Given my creativity, problem-solving skills, ability to think critically, articulation, and general easy-going nature, I firmly believe I can help students improve in any English-related course. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have been assisting friends and family with any and all writing assignments for the past decade or so. With that comes hours upon hours of reading essays numerous times while simultaneously identifying grammatical errors and familiarizing myself with all parts of grammar. Whether it be the different parts of speech, prepositions, conjunctions, modifiers, or anything else, I'm 100% positive I can help you with it, and more importantly, explain it to you so you'll know what to look out for in your writing!
Literature

Literature

I received A's in both Introduction to Literature and English Composition 2. I have spent years of my life doing analyses on classic works of literature such as Jane Eyre and Shakespeare's Sonnets, and can effectively find the deeper meanings behind the words read as a result. However, and more importantly, I'm positive I can provide the one-on-one assistance necessary to teach you how to easily do the same.
Proofreading

Proofreading

My proudest moment in proofreading came while helping a classmate go over their Motion to Suppress in high school. I had never written and/or read anything in APA format but was still able to do my research and point out errors in formatting, spelling, and punctuation while also providing feedback on how their work could be improved. We both received A's.
Reading

Reading

Reading is one of the two key components of the English subject so it is imperative students have a solid understanding of it. I have tutored dozens of friends and family over the years with reading, most notably my 13 year old brother. I am able to identify and assist students with identifying errors in grammar, punctuation, etc. as well as teaching them how to revise them and how to avoid making the same errors.

I excelled in Social Studies throughout high school and passed all four of my AP exams. In my four years I was in AP Human Geography, World History, U.S. History, and Government/Economics. Vocabulary

Vocabulary

I studied all terms for months before actually taking the exam and now they are embedded in my brain! While studying for the SAT Reading/Writing portion I quickly realized that the best way to remember vocabulary words is different for everybody. For example, I prefer linking word definitions to pictures in my mind while my study partner at the time liked making up songs. Either way, we will find out the best mnemonic device for you and make sure you can commit any and all vocabulary words to memory!
