I have a BS degree in Molecular/Microbiology (pre-med),and I am currently in school for my Masters in English and Creative writing. Most importantly, I love to learn and teach. I am skilled at teaching students that may not learn in a traditional classroom setting. I love to have fun with teaching, so the hour or two I'm with the student does not drag. I've been tutoring for over 7 years, and my students have excelled under my care. I teach a variety of subjects, but I tend to be requested most for:
Math, Science, Test Prep (FCAT, ACT, SAT, TABE), English, Reading and Writing
-Study Skills and Medical/Nursing Topics. I have a BS degree in Molecular/Microbiology (pre-med),and I am currently in school for my Masters in English and Creative writing. Most importantly, I love to learn
Danielle is so easy going and she takes extra care in giving lessons and preparing for tests. She knows her subjects. Always on time with a smile. I will recommend her to everyone.
Danielle is a great tutor. She is very professional, and very personable. My daughter found her to be very easy to work with. My daughter is much more confident now that she has had two lessons with Danielle.
My 14 year old daughters have spent years breaking into cold sweats at report card time due to difficulties in math. Danielle has come in like a breath of fresh air, clearing all the dingy, murky atmosphere that seems to revolve around teenagers and math. Her pleasant and approachable demeanor along with her ability to steer the girls back on task is a perfect combination. I would definitely recommend her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a lot of members of my family with ADD and ADHD, so I am very comfortable with finding creative ways to teach people with attention disorders. I have worked with both adults and children with attention disorders in the past. They have surpassed their expectations.
As part of my degree, I have taken genetics with the lab. I also have taken supporting classes that will help the students gain an understanding of the subject.
I have studied pharmacology as well as tutored some nurses in it. I have a deep enough grasp of pharmacology that I can break it down into the proper and easiest ways to study the information as well as understand it.
I played fast-pitch softball for ten years, and slow-pitch for the last nine. I have played every position, but truly enjoy pitcher, catcher and first base.
In order to be an effective tutor, you have to know how to best guide your student when it comes to studying, and the amount of time they allow for each subject. I have been tutoring for 7 years, but being a pre-med student really made me prioritize my studying. I can share my study skills with my clients.
