I completed my post-doctoral appointment at the University of Queensland, and held my first faculty appointment at Charles Sturt University as an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering. My job was to teach civil engineering design and coordinate with local employers for job placements and research opportunities for my students. I have worked with projects and personnel in the specialties of structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water engineering, environmental engineering, fire safety engineering, origami engineering, and traffic engineering. I created a co-curricular design program in civil engineering called the Icarus program.
