About Elizabeth

I have a Ph.D. in Social Psychology and a love of math and statistics. I currently work at Santa Fe College as an adjunct Psychology instructor. I am also employed as a part-time tutor at a tutoring studio in SF, where I work primarily with intermediate and college algebra students. I have taught undergraduate Psychology courses at Yale, Iowa State University, and SF. In high school and undergrad, I was a tutor in math and psychology.

I took AP Calculus in high school and have always excelled in mathematics. I received my bachelor's degree from Purdue University in Psychology, with minors in Sociology and Philosophy. I received my master's and doctorate degrees in Psychology and Social Psychology, respectively, from Iowa State University (minor: Statistics). I have been a postdoctoral research associate at Yale and the University of Florida.

I currently work as a tutor at the Math Studio at Santa Fe College. I took AP Calculus in high school. I received a minor in Statistics in graduate school. I am familiar with SPSS from doing years of psychology research and data analysis.

My B.A., M.S. and Ph.D. are all in Psychology. I have taught undergraduate psychology courses (General Psychology, Social Psychology, Health Psychology).

I am very patient and want to make sure students fully grasp each concept. I am a native English speaker with excellent communication skills.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Knowledgeable

She helped make sense of new topics! I feel like I can better understand and work problems on my own. I would recommend Elizabeth highly.
