About Clay

I am currently a high school special education teacher. I have a wife named PJ and a little baby girl named Lynnlee Joy. I enjoy teaching all students and have a firm grasp on math concepts up to Algebra. My love for teaching came as a result of having my own mother teach me Math in 6th grade so you can say teaching is in my blood.

Tutoring/Mentoring is a passion of mine because I get to see student's grow. It has been phenomenal to watch my ESE students exceed my expectations and I take great pride in their growth. The relationships that form with these students are ones that will only grow stronger the more I teach them. It has been a privilege and an honor to see them grow as students as well as people. I don't just want to help your student succeed in class but also in life.

I completed Math Certification for grades 5-9, also have several years experience tutoring these subjects. I excel at algebra and probability Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.5 GPA in High School and a 3.3 GPA at the University of Florida with a degree in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences with a minor in Leadership

I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little more through my profile. I look forward to hearing how I can help you and make you successful academically and personally. Good luck in all your endeavors and go Gators!!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Basketball

I have played basketball since I was in the 6th grade. I was on the varsity team at Fort Walton Beach High for 3 years and I was the captain senior year. I can teach you drills to shoot, dribble, and pass. If you want to become a better teammate and player then look no further.
