About Courtney

I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Florida. And I am attempting to earn a bachelor's degree in Public Relations. While I was working to receive my AA degree from Broward College at 15 years old, I also piano tutored on a weekly basis. I received my AA (at 17 years old), specializing in Biomedical/Biotechnical engineering.

From a young age I have been very interested in math, and I have taken a math class every semester or school year since I started elementary school. I was drawn to math because it is definite. Though it may take you hours to master a problem, there is always a solution. Reading has also always been a passion of mine. From the time that I was 2 years old, it has been impossible to find me without a book in hand. My passion for reading and writing, combined with my love of communication, led me to seek a degree in Public Relations. I hope to leave the University of Florida with a Masters degree within the next 4 years.

I'm sure you're wondering what I do to de-stress, and the answer to that would be piano. I have played for 14 years, and the last two of those have been spent tutoring children in my free time. From classical, to modern, and even the occasional show tune, there has never been a problem in my life that piano couldn't fix. I am optimistic that no matter the age or skill level, I can instill the same love

I have taken up to Calculus 2 on a college level, and I recently just finished a class in Statistics. Previously, I tutored children at my local library in elementary math.

As a Public Relations major, I have had to take multiple writing and grammar courses, making spelling an important part of my curriculum.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Piano

I have been playing piano for 14 years, and for 10 of those I took lessons. After I stopped giving lessons, I began piano tutoring on a weekly basis for a 9 year old girl who was pretty advanced for her age.
