About Malin

I am a professional computer tutor at the college I attend, pursuing a degree in both software engineering and biochemistry. I also tutor most mathematics
privately in my home, where students come for a customized learning experience. Subject matters include, but not limited to: Algebra, Calculus, Programming, Physics and Biology. I have a small but functional laboratory in my residence for hands-on
biology and limited chemistry illustrations.

I try to find an interest area of the student, and relate it to the subject matter at hand. One such example could be a musically inclined student who needs tutoring in mathematics, I can then compare taking the derivative of an equation to a sheet of
music or possibly using the scientific method to explain how to create a functioning
loop in a program.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Knowledgeable and Effective

Malin instilled confidence in my daughter, an 11th grader struggling with Algebra 2, in the very first session. She identified where my daughter was, and where she should be with effective questions and patient explanations. Malin's personality is very easy-going and at the same time, she has that "on-point" teacher quality, and my daughter (cautious at first), warmed up quickly and was totally
