University of Florida (Political Science)
Florida State University (Master's)
Hello, my name is Adam and I live in Gainesville. I attended high school at Vanguard High in Ocala where I received my International Baccalaureate degree in 2004. I then attended the University of Florida until 2007, when I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Political Science. While pursuing this degree I became very interested in how cities and urban environments are planned and built so I decided to obtain my Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning at Florida State University. Since moving back to Gainesville five years ago, I have been employed as a Planner for a local municipality.
My educational background has given me knowledge of a wide range of topics on which I can help you or your student. While I am most comfortable with history, English grammar and composition, and literature, I can also aid in statistics, Spanish, and exam prep (SAT and GRE).I have experience in tutoring students from early elementary (reading) to high school (math, Spanish, and reading comprehension).
My teaching philosophy is that every student is capable of passing and excelling in whatever subject is giving them difficulties. With motivation and confidence (and maybe some helpful hints from their teachers or parents) they can overcome any academic issues and be successful. My job is to arm the student with the tools they need to unlock their motivation and confidence. Hello, my name is Adam and I live in Gainesville. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
