About Chengxia

Hi, I'm currently working towards my PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Florida (UFL). Before joining UFL, I worked as a teaching assistant in Rutgers University, NJ for two undergraduate courses.

I have 4 years teaching experiences and my specialized area is Math and Physics. After studying with me, some of my students have successfully entered Top Ranking universities, such as University of Pennsylvania and University of Florida.

From my experiences, some students are struggling with math/physics exams even after carefully completing homework. The reason is that as students advance through coursework, they are asked not only to mimic homework problems, but also to solve problems they have not seen. I believe my strong expertise along with good teaching methodology could help you earn good grades on exams.

I'll just briefly explain my tutoring methods here. Firstly, whenever the homework sets are reviewed, an example of a potential real world application is given and it definitely helps to put things into perspective. Then, I will explain the detailed solution steps for each question in an approachable way and make sure students could understand it. Finally, I usually assign several problems for practice and this will definitely help them get deeper understanding of the homework.

I'm a nice and patient guy to my students. If you are interested in me, please feel free to let me know and I will be more than happier to help you.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Electrical Engineering

I'm now working towards PhD degree in electrical engineering at University of Florida. Before joining UFL, I worked as an instructor at Rutgers University for courses like electronic devices, electromagnetic field and etc.

I have very strong background in such areas like devices (modeling/processing), circuits (RF/Analog/Mixed-signal), computer systems (embedded system/FPGA) and applied physics (EM/semiconductor/optics).

Physics

My undergraduate background is electromagnetics and now I expand my researches to semiconductor physics in graduate school. I'm the well qualified tutor in the area of kinetics, electromagnetics, optics, acoustics, quantum physics and etc. I have also helped students in AP Physics and Physics with Cal.
