Very knowledgeable tutor, respectful and patient. He explained me in detail the process how to fix the graphing problem I had with Excel and also formulas and cell formatting. Great instructor. He also helped me with the settings of my computer to make it more efficient. I highly recommend him as an excel instructor.

We are very grateful to have found Alex as a Tutor for our daughter. Finally I think she understands the problems and is able to do her work. Thank you! Thank you!

Sharon, I'm thrilled to hear that news!!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

The goal of this course is to explain the concept of numbers and how they are manipulated, managed, and represented on the xy-coordinate system. The crucial skills gained in this course include analysis of numerical relations and spatial-visual understanding of graphing principles. The skills they learn in this course will stay with them throughout higher math education, and will prove useful in standardized testing, such as the NJASK, PSAT and SAT.

The pre-algebra course centers on building the foundations of the student’s algebra. They will be introduced to variables, expressions, order of operations and basic problem solving skills. The course also introduces students to absolute value, the coordinate plane and different algebraic properties. The students will then build on this basic knowledge by learning how to solve multi-step equations and inequalities and the complex algebraic functions that accompany them, such as exponents. They will build on their existing knowledge of fractions by examining ratios, proportions and probability, and converting to/from decimals. Additionally, students will be introduced to percents and problems requiring the application of percents.

The IES pre-algebra course also includes linear functions, which covers slope and writing equations in slope-intercept form, and graphing inequalities. Students will also learn square roots, real numbers and will touch upon right triangles.

As a supervisor in the military for 10 years, I had to speak senior staff of 10-35 high ranking officials at a time, as much as six times a day. I currently have a bachelor's degree in communications management.

The best way to prepare for the SAT or any math test is to do as many practice problems as possible. Below is what I will tutor, but the topic of the SAT Math will be up to you if you so desire.

Number Properties

Word Problems

Ratio and Proportion

Quadrilaterals

In this course I will teach students according to their age/grade because each student learns different.

Grades K-8 Keys for spelling

-I will teach how to sound the word out.

-I will teach how to spell the words they have to know.

-Teach them to write the word 5 times and then spell from memory.

-Teach them the words they need to know in sections and then go back to that section after we have gone through the list and then change the order after they remember the words.

I have had 5 years' experience teaching this to students ranging from the Freshmen in my school all the way down to 3rd grade to 7th grade. In this course I will have the ability to teach a student how to study by using observation of what they do. I do realize that some students don't realize they are doing anything wrong. I will teach them how to break their current study habits. Sometimes, it might be because a student doesn't know they are doing it and they wanting and don't think about it or they are struggling and they don't know who or what to ask for if they have no idea what they are doing. In study skills I will start by talking with the student to determine what has and has not been working for them. Based off the information I observe I will attempt to design an individual plan for his/her studying based on how they process information. By that I will see if they are a visual or a hands on person or quite simply do they just like it the way it is. I will be talking to the students teacher and see if they have noticed any improvement once I teach them. I will also be able to show the students how to succeed by showing how to show enthusiasm in the classroom and how to carry that enthusiasm all the way home.

I teach students how to start swimming from one side of the pool. Teaching students using breathing techniques. I have a neighborhood pool where I teach. I also show how to tread water. I also show how to use your arms and legs to to swim. I do teach diving lessons as well. I teach students how to use their feet to propel them through the water. I teach how students how to not be afraid of the water. I also teach students how to dive as well. I also demonstrate first aid procedures to swimmers. I demonstrate to students how do various swims and how to be comfortable around the pool.
