About David

First of all, thanks for checking out my profile. If you are looking to hire a gifted teacher, you have come to the right place.

A little introduction:

I have lived in Starke and Gainesville, Florida for most of my life. I have also lived in Vancouver, BC, Canada where I completed graduate school.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education (University of Florida, 2006) and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies with a concentration in Church History (Regent College, Vancouver, BC, Canada, 2011). I have experience teaching high school band, elementary music (PreK-5), sixth, seventh, and eighth grade mathematics as well as Algebra I. I am currently a 3/4 elementary school math, science, and social science teacher.

In regards to music education, I specialize in teaching brass but I am also able to teach woodwinds and percussion. I can also teach general music, music history, and music theory. I have a professional certification to teach music grades K-12 in Florida.

In regards to math education, I am certified to teach grades 6-12 in the State of Florida and therefore can teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, and Calculus. My results as a math teacher are the most impressive. My students made more learning gains on the FCAT than any other teacher on campus during the 2012-2013 school year. I also had great results during the 2013-2014 school year but am not sure how those results among the teachers on campus that year.

In regards to social science education, my master's degree makes me an excellent source in historical thinking and writing. I was trained by Oxford University educated history and theology professors. I can also tutor biblical studies, philosophy, and theology for this reason. I have a professional certification to teach social science grades 6-12 in Florida.

Due to my education, experience, and my natural gifts, I am an excellent teacher and, if you were to hire me, I would be one of the best tutors you have ever had. If this is not the case after receiving my instruction, please let me know.
