David is extremely intelligent and is great at explaining math concepts and how to solve certain math problems. He is patient, easy to understand, and helps explain concepts at a good pace and with clarity. David also sent me extra practice problems on his own time to ensure that I was grasping the math concepts I was struggling with for the GRE. He was also very flexible when scheduling times to meet. I learned a lot from him and would highly recommend him as a math tutor.

David worked with my son in geometry. My son was barely passing and in serious danger of failing the semester. I had been able to help him earlier in the year, but as he got further behind, he needed more help than I could give, having not taken geometry in decades. We knew that he needed some intense review for his final exam. David worked with Matthew three times, an hour and a half each session. They steadily worked through his exam review guide. As a result, Matthew received an A on his exam. He definitely had to work hard on the exam and his teacher gave him an extra 15 minutes to finish, but the end result was that in addition to receiving the A, he passed the semester! Now Matthew has confidence in his ability to learn and actually has enthusiasm to work with a tutor in geometry, now that he knows that it can and does work! Thank you David. You’re amazing!

David answered all my questions and took the time to go through each problem. I will definitely meet with him again!

David is very knowledgeable when it comes to Excel concepts and formulas. He is an excellent tutor to work with and I really enjoy our sessions. He makes learning easy!!

My 8th grader was in danger of needing to retake algebra in high school so we enlisted David's help. With every session, my son would voice more understanding and show improved test scores. He actually improved from an F on his test prior to meeting David to an A on his last test before his final. With David's assistance, he ended the year with a B average and a much better understanding of Algebra, so he won't need to repeat it in 9th grade. David is polite, friendly, always on time, relates well to students, and clearly explains math well as my son demonstrated through greatly improved results. Highly recommend David for math tutoring at many levels!

David L. gave some tutoring sessions to my 6th grader for Pre Algebra. I must say he is an amazing tutor. He is very calm, knowledgeable, and punctual. He helped him for State standardize test (PARCC). We are very happy with his services, and looking forward to ask his services again.

David is spot on with his ability to explain the subjects in a quick and efficient manner. Highly recommend him.

David has been much better than the instructor at explaining things that I do not understand. He has been a great help in getting through my MBA level stats class.

David is helping me keep my sanity. I'm enrolled in an MBA statistics class and pulling my hair out. I hired David to help facilitate my thinking (and teach me) while I'm working out my problem sets. This has saved me a TON of time. He's patient and down to earth.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I'm currently a tutor for ACT math. I've assisted students with this material for the past 10 years. I've written practice questions for an ACT math study manual. I've also taught a summer SAT math prep course.

I previously worked as an actuary in San Francisco. I've passed the following actuarial exams:

Exam P - Probability

Exam FM - Financial Mathematics

Exam MFE - Financial Economics

Exam MLC - Life Contingencies

Exam C - Evaluation of Actuarial Models

I have much experience tutoring algebra. I've taught both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 to high school students. I was also a teaching assistant at Ohio State for a College Algebra course. As a master's student at Ohio State I took a linear algebra course, which adds to my background in algebra.

I'm was previously a teaching assistant for calculus 1 at Ohio State during my time as a graduate student. I was a teaching assistant for calculus 2 at Georgia Tech for two semesters. I've tutored calculus for over 10 years.

I've taken a formal courses in the mathematics and statistics department at Georgia Tech, Ohio State, and UF in combinatorics and number theory. As a teaching assistant in the math department, I taught a course in finite math, which utilized many techniques of discrete math. I also write tests for high school math competitions, which have ranged topics in discrete mathematics such as number theory.

I've been an active computer user on a Windows operating system for the past 20 year. I have experience setting up an operating system, running system diagnostics, and much more. I have also used Mac computers and Linux as well.

I've tutored geometry to middle school and high school students. As a master's student I took rigorous graduate level mathematics courses that required me to write proofs, which are a major component of geometry. I've also taken a differential geometry course at Ohio State, which adds to my background in geometry.

I have taken graduate level linear algebra courses and was a teaching assistant for an undergraduate linear algebra course. I am qualified to teach the following:

1) systems of linear equations

2) matrix algebra (determinants, multiplication)

3) Gaussian elimination

4) eigenvalues and eigenvectors

5) Gram-Schmidt process

6) LU decomposition

I've used Microsoft Excel's advanced tools for the past 10 years. I'm experienced creating pivot tables, data tables, lookup formulas (vlookups, hlookups), and mathematical and statistical formulas (countif, sumif, sumproduct, etc.). I'm able to make sense of large data sets through Excel's advanced functionalities.

I've tutored numerous students in algebra and pre-algebra. I will walk students through an algebra problem in a step-by-step fashion, allowing them to formulate their own process for solving an algebra problem. I make things as simple and clear as possible during our lesson.

I've tutored numerous high school and college students in precalculus. I taught courses in precalculus as Ohio State and Georgia Tech. As a tutor I make sure that students understand both the algebra and geometry components of the course, as well as making sure they are prepared for calculus if they decide to continue with mathematics.

I'm currently a PhD student in Statistics at the University of Florida. My research focus has foundations in probability and statistics. I've taught courses involving probability topics at the high school and college levels.

I am an advanced user of the R programming language with over 5 years of experience. I've used the language for data processing and statistical analysis. I'm currently using R to build multivariate logistic models and develop machine learning algorithms to analyze medical data.
