Bio

Hello I am Gianna Colby! I am currently a student at the University of Florida, and I am involved with the Student Honors Organization! I am a biology major, and a communication studies minor, currently on the pre-med path. Hello I am Gianna Colby! I am currently a student at the University of Florida, and I am involved with the Student Honors Organization! I am a biology major, and a communication studies minor, currently on the pre-med path. I have been tutoring for almost 5 years, whether it be through tutoring organizations at my schools such as NHS and NJHS, both in which I was in charge of, or as a science TA as a high schooler through a chemistry professor. I have a longtime passion for tutoring because I love interacting with people and I love helping others! The way that I tutor is that I start with basic information, and overall interests. My number one policy is always tuning my lessons to a student's learning style, whether it be example-based, visual, or auditory among some. I am excited to continue my passion for tutoring!

Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 were both my favorite subjects, and were both subjects I tutored heavily in within the past for a few years. I had a 740 on my math portion on the SAT. Algebra is a major component within the SAT, and I hope to specify to that ability.

I passed both my AP Chemistry, and AP Biology exams with flying colors! I have 5+ years of experience in these subjects. I also was a TA in a biology class in Middle School, and a Chemistry class tutor and TA for a professor for two years in high school! I specialized in Chemistry and Biology as well in NHS and NJHS, in which I was the only one who taught heavily in these subjects in my hometown. Chemistry and Biology are both some of my favorite subjects, and I specialize specifically in them because I love science!

I got a perfect score on my SAT writing portion! I have a lot of experience in tutoring SAT materials, and I am excited to continue tutoring these subjects.
