I have a degree in Elementary Education, which had academic focus on handwriting skills needing to be taught to students. Also, I have taught handwriting in the classroom. I homeschooled my eldest child and taught her handwriting before print and she wrote beautifully before she was 7 years old.
I first learned how to use Publisher in a class in high school, and then, for my junior and senior years, I assisted in teaching the same class. Since this time, I have developed multiple newsletters, signs, and various other projects in this program. For several years, I worked with a local company to develop all of their brochures and marketing materials and Publisher was my program of choice.
I began using MS Windows in high school and then moved into assisting two classes where I aided other students in the use of MS Windows. I then entered into a computer programming major in college (which was later changed to an education major) and proceeded to use MS Windows for many of my classes and projects. Since this time, I have been an independent consultant for several businesses, one of my main jobs being to aid employees in using MS Windows and related features.
I have a degree in Elementary Education and multiple courses throughout college were focused on this very subject. I understand the core elements of phonics from sounding out letters to combining sounds to successfully read. I have several games and techniques I have utilized over the years to help small children learn to read.
I began privately tutoring other students in high school and since then, I have obtained my degree in Elementary Education and tutored countless students in and out of the school environment. Acquiring good study skills is often a more important focus in the tutoring environment than studying a specific skill. With the correct study skills, a student can learn anything.
