Villanova University (English)
Thank you for your consideration. A graduate of Villanova University with a major in English, I am very passionate about language. So much so in fact, that I spent thirty years as a journalist for the prestigious New York Times, the number one publication in the world. Now retired, I have spent the last few years mentoring and tutoring international, ESOL students, from age 16 to 70, at the most prestigious language school in Florida, South Beach Languages.
My differential advantages are my extensive writing background and volunteer teaching at a number of Fort Myers churches and libraries. My experience at The South Beach Language School in Miami has honed my teaching expertise in the classroom and one one tutoring, I taught international students from dozens of countries, from Level 1 to Level 8 to Conversation to Business English. Thus, if you want to prepare a resume, apply for a job or work on your interview skills, I can be of assistance. I have the industry's most successful learning program and books. Please see below for more detailed information regarding my South Beach Language School expertise.
My mission is to meet individual student needs by providing a proven program I gleaned from the number one English Language School in Florida. It is critical that our learning experience is conducted in a relaxed, no pressure environment of the student's choice. My tutoring program is special in that it is organized and a proven winner, not a random conversation lacking focus. With me, you will see measured results in every session.
My program emphasizes communication for academic, social and professional development. I am a dynamic native speaker, confident with a diverse mix of nationalities and sensitive to every students learning pace. Most importantly, I care very much about you, my student. I do not do this for the compensation as I have volunteered extensively. I do this for the joy of the cultural exchange and the opportunity to give back as I have been blessed.
Thank you for your consideration.
Feel free to contact me. Unlike most mentors, I will not pressure you for your business. I am selective as to who I mentor and tutor. Only serious candidates should apply as I want our exchange to be special, not professionally rigid and opportunistic. Finally, you'll notice that I charge less than anyone else, testament to my seriousness for the educational process, not a profiteering one.
Again, thank you. Thank you for your consideration. A graduate of Villanova University with a major in English, I am very passionate about language. So much so in fact, that I spent thirty years as a journalist for the prestigious New York Times,
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
