Florida Gulf Coast University (Biomedical Engineeri)
Hello there! My name is Robby D., and I am a recent graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University’s Biomedical Engineering BS degree. I have been a professional tutor and teacher for over 5 years, covering a broad spectrum of subjects. I have been a Teacher’s Assistant for a few college level classes including: General Biology, Introduction to Biomaterials, and Cell and Tissue Engineering. I also have a wide background in music, business, civics, and medicine.
I plan on applying for Medical School and PhD school to eventually work in Regenerative Medicine developing translational procedures for neural tissue due to traumatic injury and neurodegenerative disease.
Even though I have accomplished many academic successes, it was not always this way. I had a hard time with middle and high school, and I know what it is like to suffer with academics. BUT, I have developed many strategies to help myself understand and utilize subject matters that were once hard to grasp. I have a great track record for teaching others these skills and helping others reach their personal goals in academic and in life. I hope I can help you or your student set and exceed their academic goals. So, please, consider my assistance in the subject matters that I have listed.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored and been a teaching assistant in biology for many years. I have also applied the knowledge in the class while working in a research laboratory. I did very well on the biological portion of the MCAT.
I took Organic Chemistry 1&2 at Florida Gulf Coast University, where I earned a B and an A, respectively, in the classes. As I am applying for medical school, I had to touch up on and be proficient with Organic Chemistry to take the MCAT, the standardized test for medical school. I have also tutored the subject before at the on-campus tutoring center at my university. Additionally, I have been working in a research laboratory for 4 years now and use many organic chemistry principles within my research to predict and understand many chemical reactions that I perform on a daily basis.
