About Joseph

Bio

Did you know that the human brain actually changes itself? It's true. It's called neuroplasticity. What this means is that no subject is beyond your ability to learn. Our basic biology ensures that with enough practice and experience, we can master anything. I'm here to help you put this into practice. I enjoy teaching and working with students because I believe that everyone has limitless potential, that if you're willing to give it a shot and work for it, there's nothing that you can't...

For a little bit about me, I grew up in Rhode Island and went to school in Massachusetts. I completed a B.A. double major in psychology and English at Clark University, achieving summa cum laude in both subjects. I was also inducted into the Psi Chi Honors society and completed an English honors project. I then went on to receive a Masters of Science in Psychological Research at the University of Oxford.

In my free time, I'm an avid movie lover. My love of movies is only surpassed by my love of books and reading. I will read pretty much on any subject. My favorite fiction genres include science fiction, New Weird (a mash-up of sci-fi, and/or horror, and/or whatever other genre the author cares for), and (good) horror. I also write my own fiction. Additionally, I love to travel and would live out of a suitcase if I could.

My main job is being a public speaker in the field of education. I speak about bullying, finding purpose in life, how to be successful, having compassion for oneself and others, as well as other things.

Public Speaking

As a professional public speaker and a member of Toastmasters who is quickly rising through the ranks, I'd be able to share valuable insights into public speaking. My psychology background also equips me to understand the nature of people's fears about public speaking and how to, step by step, overcome these fears. Additionally, I have done my own research as part of my job to figure out what makes for effective and engaging public speaking.
