I have a Masters Degree in teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from City University of New York. I understand and love grammar, can help with pronunciation problems and test preparation for many standardized tests. I also have years of experience teaching reading and writing to native English speakers.
My approach is unique and natural and I always try to keep the stress level low for students. I believe in positive reinforcement, but do not hesitate to point out errors when it's appropriate. I train students to find their own mistakes and make their own corrections.
I think teachers need to be loving and supportive to students and to hopefully have a good sense of humor. Building a student's confidence is half the battle in helping someone learn. Facilitating the learning process makes the process easier for students and I have learned how to to explain things clearly. I love working with adults and have great enthusiasm for my job.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from City University of New York and many years of teaching experience. I understand the way adults learn a second language and my teaching style shows this. I offer private/semi private lessons and create an individualized curriculum for each student. I can help with test preparation, workplace English, academic English or focus on any of the language skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing. I teach in a natural way and always include vocabulary-building and help with pronunciation or grammatical problems that I observe. Students learn a lot of English and have a lot of fun at the same time.
I have helped students from other countries prepare for the GED test. Because I teach students whose native language is not English, I am able to make myself very clear and explain things very simply. I am particularly strong in English grammar, writing and reading.
I am a professional teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL). I love grammar, understand it very well and am very good at explaining it to students in a simple way. Grammar is not difficult, but teachers often make it complicated. As a result, students get confused and frustrated. I can help. Grammar is fun!
I get private students from Europe who need help preparing for this test to prove English language proficiency. I have helped numerous students, own and am familiar with all the Cambridge materials. I have a Masters Degree in teaching English from City University of New York. I specialize in teaching English as a Second Language.
I administered TOEFL in NY (paper test) for several years. I have taught TOEFL prep to many students and am generally very familiar with the test.
Although my Masters Degree is in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), and I am able to teach any of the language skills (listening/speaking/reading/writing), writing is my favorite. I firmly believe it is a process and takes careful reading and rewriting to make a piece "say" what you want it to. So many students have told me that they just can't do it, and I have been very successful at helping them see that they CAN. It can even be an enjoyable experience.
