She repeats things even if I keep asking the same question. She has a lot of patience. Even if it you think you're asking a stupid question, she'll answer it and explain it. She doesn't judge how much you don't know.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Math, being my favorite subject, has been a focal point in my education. I have been tutoring math for over 10 years; grade levels ranging from 1st grade to 9th. My approach is to educate the student in the basics of the topic to then introduce the complex aspects of the lesson. I use examples that stick and make it easy for the student to remember.
My GRE test scores were 169 Verbal and 166 Quant. I am proficient in the subjects being tested in the GRE, and through my own experience with the test, I have extensive knowledge about test taking tequniques for ETS. I give test-drills to my students to prepare them for test day!
Pre-algebra is the foundation for success in Algebra. I familiarize my students with all aspects of Pre-algebra to gradually introduce Algebra. My goal is to prepare them for Algebra and make the transition smooth. I dedicate a great deal of time to this subject to make sure my students fully grasp the concepts.
Spanish is my native tongue! I work with my students to clearly define their weak areas in Spanish. My effective approach is consistency; reading and pronouncing Spanish words and sentences used in everyday life that can be used often will create proficiency.
