Do you struggle with your homework? Do you dislike math, or other subjects? Is learning just not you thing? Learning should never be hard, or seem like a burden, or a chore, but rather an enjoyable, fun, euphoric, and uplifting experience of life. Learning begins first with your mind. If you think you can't do something or you approach it negatively, all that will do is negatively affect your overall performance. It's all about a mindset. You cannot doubt yourself or say that you can't, because then you've already lost the race. I am a professional educator and an effective and highly experienced tutor/teacher. I have taught students at various levels including elementary, middle school, high school, and collegiate and I have even sat in the classroom of teachers and assisted their students, so I understand how students operate and learn on a broad scale.
As a collegiate graduate, I have been tutoring for almost 9 years and teaching for about 4. (Effective Math and English tutor Specializing in Writing and Test Prep.) I recently worked in and have seen a lot of classroom settings as I was a math coach for different schools and grades levels, mainly in high school and middle school. I have also worked in the collegiate level in their math lab presenting myself and assisting whomever needed help at the time. When it comes to tutoring, I am very patient when it comes to the student and I effectively present to them the material that they find difficult or are struggling with.
In order to do this, I help to breakdown the idea of the material through the use of grasping the concepts; the understanding of these components is what connects the idea of learning together for the students and makes them stick in their mind. I offer the building blocks for success, focusing on comprehension, study skills and habits, going back to basics if necessary, whatever is the student needs are I do my very best to accommodate that for them and solve the issue. I love math, it is my favorite subject; I understand the concepts needed to solve both the complex and the basic problems and I am able to teach that to any student with outstanding results.
I have been tutoring for quite a while and I tutor in over a range of subjects, math being my favorite preference. I love science, computers, and I love to write, however, math is what I love best. As I present the concepts with the students, they are able to see framework and the design behind anything, just from taking the time to look deeper into a thing, and that's what I do effectively. I help to make whatever issue you have clearer for you to understand and come up with the solution just from understanding the concepts.
*I am very flexible with my scheduling, but if your student has an issue with the time that was agreed upon or something came up please take the opportunity to contact me immediately via text, email, or phone. If the child will be late, for instance...I usually implement a 15 minute window, that's if fine, just please contact me to let me know. As for cancellation, I do have a policy of 6 hours notice prior to the session (very serious about time, however, I am extremely patient when it comes to learning and to assisting your student (serious about the students time and my time as well)
Understanding the concepts of a subject, gives you insight to how something works and why it works that way. [walk them through make sure they get it, won't leave the same way they came] Knowing that you won't ever forget how it works; nothing beats that "aha" moment, that satisfaction you get when something clicks; that is what I provide as a tutor.
If you are looking for ways to not just increase your overall knowledge, but to also improve your grades, please take hold of this golden opportunity and contact me. Thank you. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I love grammar. I have a very strong understanding on how words are supposed to be structured within a sense, I understand how to properly use and apply correct tenses, I understand the use of pronouns, and adverbs and generally how to comprehend what a sentence is saying and how it is supposed to coherently sound.
