I am a fluent French speaker with several years teaching experience at the university and high school levels, and as an individual tutor. I mainly learned to speak French during my during the 5 years I spent living in Paris, France, where I graduated magna cumlaude from a Master’s program taught entirely in French.
In France, I taught English as a second language at La Sorbonne University, and I provided private one on one lessons with students from a range of backgrounds. Over the past 3 years, I have provided private French lessons to mainly high school students preparing state exams, although my experience teaching at the university level means i am able to teach larger and more diverse groups.
Depending on the age group, I aim to teach lessons that are highly interactive and visual, with alternating reading, listening and speaking exercises. I enjoy teaching, and I have received very positive reviews from both students and employers regarding my methods.
Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales - 2 year Masters program at an elite research university located in Paris, France. All lectures and written work were conducted in French, including my 110 page masters dissertation. I graduated with 'highest honors' (mention tres bien).

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
