In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. I have been a Macintosh user since 1997. I have an iMac at home along with a MacBook 13 and for work I use a MacBook Pro 15. I have been a tech specialist at a school that was primarily a Macintosh school.
I use Microsoft Office as my primary day-to-day tool, and I am familiar with Pages, Keynote, and Numbers. As a teacher I also use a number of other Apple products for my classes.
I am very comfortable with the OS X environment and I'm confident that I could tutor anyone in the operation of the Mac.
