I have been teaching or tutoring for what feels like my entire life. Even in high school, I worked as a science and math tutor for my classmates. In college, I was a paid tutor at the University of Miami and Florida State University. Eventually, I was a Teaching Assistant while doing a Master's in Geography and had my own classes.
I am an educator at heart teaching college classes for over 20 years. I am fluent in Spanish, and even taught coursework in Spanish in South America. I am also a attorney licensed in Florida. I can help with Law, Geography, Criminal Justice and potentially Political Science.
My approach is patient, thorough, and helpful as I want students to reach their full potential. I breakdown the areas of deficiency and try to build a study plan based on individual achievement, including short and long-term goals. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a licensed attorney who has worked on Juvenile Criminal mediation cases.
As a Professor at Heald (June 2009 – 2013), I taught Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Constitutional Law in the Criminal Justice Program. I also taught Criminal Law, Torts, Family Law, and Ethics and served as Internship Lead in the Criminal Justice Program.
