My name is Oswald M. I have passed a FINRA.org Series 7 General Securities Representative License examination. Also, I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Law and a Certificate in Finance. Throughout my career, I concentrated and polished my skills in Finance that later sprung my passion about Mathematics. I am currently pursuing a combined program BS & MS in Mathematical Science and a Certificate in Actuarial Studies at Florida International University, in Miami, Florida. I started tutoring during freshman year at University of Lima, in Lima, Peru. I was part of the study group leaders; this is when I discovered that I loved teaching! I joined "Mariscal Castilla School", a military institute in Trujillo, Peru, and prepared high school seniors not only for their college entry tests but also tutored college students for their midterm and final exams. I taught Pre-Calculus Algebra & Trigonometry as well as College Algebra.

I am a very demanding and interactive tutor, I go through exercises and occasionally assign homework to further reinforce and assure that my lessons are being absorbed. Lesson agendas and teaching methodology vary depending on your needs and the understanding of the weaknesses and strengths of each individual student. For example, it is important to identify from the beginning the predominant learning style of each prospective student such as visual, auditory, read-write, kinesthetic, or the mix of these learning styles. I am flexible but at the same I measure success by results, so I expect that grades and exams should substantially improve with my mentorship. I strongly believe that everyone can reach vast and great deal of knowledge if you put enough effort. There are many tests that challenge our creativity and rational thinking, but I guarantee that practice is the key to success. Sometimes, I don't have the answer right away, but I think that learning is a team accomplishment between student and professor. My mission is just trying to help students to kick start their own study path.

Awesome Tutor

I am studying for the Series 7 exam and this exam is tough but Oswald really helps in explaining the concept of the material. He breaks it down in the simplest form for you to understand. Super patient, encouraging and genuine. I was very skeptical about the exam but after sessions with Oswald, I definitely feel more confident. I am very glad to have found him for tutoring.

Excellent Teacher

Oswald is more teacher than tutor. He explained the lesson to my son very clearly and patiently. I am confident that with continued tutoring, my son will become fluent in Spanish. He is there early and stays late. He made sure that my son understood the lesson and stayed past our scheduled time.

Great Teacher, Great Personality

Although I have been studying Spanish for a few years, I was struggling with one particular concept that was difficult to grasp in the classroom. Because of limited time spent on each chapter in the classroom, I felt I needed 1 on 1 instruction with a native Spanish teacher who was fluent in both grammar and conversational aspects of the language. Oswald M. was definitely a fit for my learning needs.

Very Patient Tutor

Oswald is a very thorough and patient tutor. He breaks down all the steps necessary to complete the questions and encourages my daughter to slow down and show all the work. His methodical approach helps her realize where she has been making mistakes and she appreciates the fact that her questions are always accepted without judgement.

Wants the studen to learn and feel empowered

Oswald is a very good tutor. He works hard to help you learn and wants you to enjoy the knowledge you have learned. He's a pleasant person to work with and I am currently working with him on MAC 1105. He is making all the difference for me to understand and pass the tests.
