With 15 years of teaching/tutoring experience in a variety of subjects and a M.A.Ed., I have worked successfully with all levels of students; elementary school, middle school, high school, and college. I am very patient and a good listener. I work with many students who have learning differences. Our sessions are customized for you.

Whether your difficulty is missing background information, quickly learning new subject matter, developing better study skills, or overcoming low motivation, I can help you. I also work with a select few students each year on the college application process which includes SAT/ACT practice because I like to be accessible to the students I work with.

Throughout my career as a teacher, I have had the opportunity to instruct a diverse group of students. I participate in numerous professional development opportunities, which allow me to meet teachers and students from all over the world.

I worked in a variety of elite boarding schools all of which required a large time commitment to the student body and school. I commit to my clients. I communicated with overseas agents from Brazil, China, France, and South Korea about the educational concerns of students I taught. I have even dealt with celebrity parents. I also work with various families who home-school their children. I believe I am a great communicator which makes me a great teacher.

Because of my work at elite private schools and my behind the scenes knowledge of what it takes to make it into these top ranked schools, I have worked with many students wishing to not only do well on the SSAT but to gain admittance into various schools. The SSAT is like any other standardized test. With my knowledge of test taking strategies, review of the material that makes up the test, and practice, I have helped many students to achieve their goals. The SSAT is just one piece of an important puzzle to assuring acceptance and or higher financial assistance at a selective secondary school.

I have taught a TEAS preparation course. The course reviewed three topics. The first was: English comprehension skills assessed in the exam including punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words, spelling and test taking strategies. The second was: math comprehension skills including whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions and decimals, algebraic equations, percentages, ratio/proportions and test taking strategies. And the third was: General Science Understanding skills which include, science knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, basic physical principles, and test taking strategies. I have experience working with individuals to master the material by reviewing the exam with them and teaching them the skills they were lacking in order to be successful. My clients have a great rate of passing this test.

Miracle Worker

Chris tutors my 6th grader in both math and reading and does an amazing job. My son has ADHD and LD and was very vocal about NOT wanting to see a tutor. Now he actually enjoys it, and has since the beginning. Chris knows how to connect with kids and explains concepts very well.

Christopher really related to and motivated both of my children. They are excited to get to work with him. He taught me a quick game to play with the kids this week with variations to help them visualize words and remember them. This will increase there reading fluency in the weeks to come. Great tutor for kids with dyslexia

Chris tutored our son in Reading and we have seen great improvement in a few months. FL public schools do not recognize or test for dyslexia or train their teachers to teach reading using O-G methods. They use generalized phonics instruction and sight word memorization which, at least in our case, are not effective. I've learned so much from Chris about how to work with my son and the reasons why traditional teaching techniques will never be effective for him. I recommend Chris highly!

Christopher is the type of tutor who is prepared before the session and willing to help you with every problem. I have only had one session so far. Christopher is helping my son navigate the SSAT test for admission to middle school. In one hour he summed him up, found his strengths and weaknesses and developed a game plan going forward to get him comfortable with the test and meet his goals. Outstanding Spanish Tutor

Christopher has been an excellent tutor for my son in his high school Spanish class. As a result of their work together, his skill set and confidence has grown exponentially over the past few months. We particularly like that Christopher is able to work with my son via Skype because it eliminates travel time and makes their tutoring sessions very efficient. Through Skype, they are able to share documents and practice written work on screen. It has been an excellent way to organize their tutoring sessions. We also appreciate that Christopher comes prepared with materials to work on in the areas that we highlight as areas of concern. He has terrific knowledge of the subject and related materials. He has been an outstanding tutor.
