We were searching for a good tutor to help my daughter (who hates math) prepare for her finance midterm exam. Thank God we found a Great tutor in Ahmad. During her session He was so patient and thorough, ensuring my daughter fully understood the various math concepts, formula applications and practice of the chapters. She took the exam feeling prepared and confident she did well. We will definitely be using Ahmad as our go to tutor again in the near future.
Offered my son a comprehensive session & will definitely use Ahmad on a regular basis for my son to strive.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I'm originally from Lebanon, a small Arabic country located in the Middle East. I have studied Arabic as my first language throughout all my school years. I scored one of the highest grades in writing for my high school Arabic literature writing exam. Even though I have been living in the US for years now, I still maintain Arabic as my first language, and the one spoken at home.
I also constantly tutor young Arabic kids who are born in the US in order to get them to learn their parents’ first language.
When teaching Arabic to kids and adults, I found it most beneficial to use the communicative approach. This approach is emphasized by encouraging students to acquire communicative competence through continuous practices in the session. The goal is to have the student become conversationally competent. Therefore the nature of learning highly involves students’ participation. This approach views language as a form of communication. Linguistic competence, the knowledge of forms and meanings is, however, just one part of communicative competence. Therefore the learner needs knowledge of forms, and meanings, and functions.
For example, when teaching kids their first Arabic lessons, I start with the alphabets by writing it in shapes of animals this way it becomes easier for kids to memorize. I also I try to engage the students by letting them define the letter by its sound. Toward the end of every session, we play a game where kids have to identify shapes and sounds through the usage of alphabets.
By using this approach I have had students under the age of 10 years old learn how to read simple sentences in 4-6 weeks.
Currently teaching all different courses of general chemistry at Broward College.
