Hello out there! I am a supportive, personable, experienced Math educator with more than 30 years of experience working with all levels of Math students - from children to adults. I have worked with students in elementary, middle school, junior high school, high school and college/university. I have helped family and friends with their Math struggles for as long as I can remember!
I was an Honor Student in High School, and later earned my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education at Brooklyn College (City University of New York). From there I went on to work as a High School Mathematics Teacher while earning my Masters Degree in Mathematics Education (with High Honors.) I even worked several years developing/supporting beginning teachers with how to teach Mathematics (and other subjects)! In addition, I also have several years of experience teaching students at the college level. Most recently, I have also helped numerous elementary school students with their Math homework while working for an after-school program which was run in the Broward County Libraries.
My teaching style has been described as "fun, engaging, and supportive." I am here to make YOU feel more relaxed and confident with the Math subjects that you face.

Michael tutored my son, a high school student, with advanced Algebra 2. We were very impressed from the second we met Michael. He has a great personality, is very knowledgeable, and extremely smart. When tutoring, he is very patient and thorough, but at the same time he made it fun and light. With Michael's educational background, we felt very honored and grateful for his time and dedication in assisting my son. He truly is an exceptional tutor with an impressive mathematical background and extensive experience. My son went from failing the class to passing with a 'B' in a challenging course. We are forever grateful to Michael for his help and admire his dedication in teaching students.
My son is in college and has always struggled with math. He had to retake college algebra, so I knew we needed to hire a tutor. My son said that Michael was able to break Algebra down for him and explain it so he could understand it. My son is finally learning Algebra. He was so excited that he asked if he could spend another hour studying with Michael, so he had a two hour tutoring session with Michael that was well worth it! My son is so encouraged and excited about studying with Michael and feels that he now has a chance to pass this class and move on to the next subject. Thanks to Michael, Algebra is now making sense to him.
Michael was very easy to understand; he takes the time to break down everything to where you will comprehend, step by step, he has a lot of patience and is very good. Very happy with his lesson.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
