BA/ Calvin College, Grand Rapids MI (Art Spanish English)
Hello, I am a former middle school Language Arts teacher. I've also been a Language Arts teacher for students with intellectual and learning challenges. I have taught my own six children to read. And probably most importantly, I'm dyslexic and struggled through my own reading challenges in my youth.
I am patient and kind. I'm 45 years old. If you or someone you love doesn't know how to read, or is not reading at the appropriate grade-level, I invite you to allow me to help. I think you will be relieved and excited to see our progress!
I have vast experience with helping readers with intellectual and learning challenges learn to read with ease, and come to enjoy reading! I believe that once rudimentary levels of reading and comprehension are achieved, the student can take off quickly -if materials that peak their interests are introduced. Reading lays a solid foundation for all learning, and it can provide the richest pleasure for those who come to be proficient at it!
I have had certification for teaching ESE (Exceptional Student Education) K-12 Language Arts, and have successfully worked one-on-one with many students with learning disabilities/challenges.
Please call or text me, Kristie, at (352) 697-3150. I'd love to meet you in person and see what I can do to help! Hello, I am a former middle school Language Arts teacher. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
