About Cynthia

I want to be a Writer.

If this is a thought that you've either kept tucked away in the recesses of your imagination or one that you have set as a goal, I can help you get there. From mastering sentence structure to writing full dramatic works, I have spent the past 25 years teaching students the fundamentals and advanced techniques of writing and storytelling. Whether you are needing help with composition, practicing for your AP Exam, needing guidance with submitting a creative writing portfolio or prepping a dramatic work for a contest, I can help guide you in achieving your academic and personal goals.

I have over 30 years of professional experience writing for film, television, documentary, broadcast news and public relations and advertising. I also have over 20 years experience as a writing professor and instructor. Some of my former students have gone on to work as writers for "Bones", "How to Get Away With Murder", and "The Shield".

I have also held a Research Fellowship at the Universita' degli Studi della Calabria in Italy, and I have worked there locally on several film projects. I hold dual U.S./Italian Citizenship.

Are you planning a trip to Italy or are you trying to research your Italian genealogy? I have lived and worked in Italy, and have taken almost 30 hours of formal instruction in Italian from the University of Miami in Florida and New York University. I have a rating of conversational fluency and can help you with Introductory lessons, or provide a specialized course of Italian for Travel. I also have experience in aiding those of Italian descent who want to apply for dual citizenship through the "jure sanguis" program, and can aid you with your correspondence in order to obtain Italian vital records.

I hold certification to teach AP English Composition and have been certified to teach middle school and high school English. I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Writing for Broadcast Media from the University of Florida and I have taught Composition at post secondary institutions as well as mentored high school and middle school aged students.

I hold an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from New York University, and have worked as a professional writer for over two decades with produced credits for television, film and the stage. I have taught dramatic writing at top ranked film schools and I am familiar with all media writing formats.

Writing should flow to fingers as easily as conversation to the tongue, I can help you get there. Whether you are struggling with the outline for your first essay or your first play, it would be my honor to help you succeed in achieving your goals.
