I am certified to teach high school biology and middle school mathematics in the State of Florida. In May 2010, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology Ed., Cum Laude. My teaching experience includes teaching Biology in Public Schools, tutoring reading through Sylvan, and private tutoring in reading and writing.
I also teach beginner and intermediate violin. Currently, I am a member of the Suncoast Symphony (violin I) and the Bay Area Fiddle Association. I also attend many Irish style sessions and am familiar with the Cape Breton fiddle style. I teach group violin lessons at the Suncoast Waldorf School to grades 4-6. My daughter has been struggling in math, but with only a couple of sessions, my daughter has brought up her math grades. My daughter loves the experience, because Roberta is very patient and pleasant.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a certified to teach in the State of Florida, and hold certification in middle school math education. The math subject I most often tutor is algebra. College algebra was one of my favorite classes when in college.
I have a degree in secondary science education and a professional teacher's certificate with subject areas in biology and middle school math. Chemistry classes I have taken include: Intro to Chemistry with lab, General Chemistry I and II with labs, Biochemistry, and Organic Chem I and II with labs.
I just took this class at St. Petersburg College and received an A. On the third test for the class I got the highest score. I'm not sure who got the highest score on the final, but after the curve I had 100 on the final.
