Florida Atlantic University
As a graduate from Florida Atlantic University, majoring in Elementary Education, I can assist children with all their tutoring needs. I have been working for the past 15 years in an after school program, first as
head teacher, and later as program director. During this time I assisted with homework, worked one on one with some special problem areas, and taught general academic skills. I also helped organize and teach the CHAMPS program, which is a Palm Beach County curriculum that is literature based and designed to enhance the FCAT scores. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BA degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University. I have been working with children in grades K through 6 in After School for over 10 years.
I work with children assisting with homework, helping with remedial reading and other academic challenges.
In my position as the Head Teacher and now the Program Director of an After School Center, I have spent the past 12 years working with children, ages 5 through 12. My job includes homework assistance, one-on-one tutoring and assisting in various academic projects. Until this year, I was also responsible for teaching a CHAMPS program. This program is a Palm Beach County curriculum, literature based, designed to enhance the FCAT scores.
