Florida A&M University College of Law (J.D.)
My name is Preston T., and I am a Juris Doctor and a Florida Practicing Attorney. I graduated from Florida A&M University College of Law and I passed the Florida Bar Examination on my first attempt through a method that I perfected by which small doses of information are taken in and digested as part of a broader scope of curriculum mastery. My methods and approach are helpful in almost any aspect of study. I also focus on the development and use of Mnemonic devices and reinforce the importance of repetition and practice as part of my all around course plan. I wish to help students study for examinations and master their subject matter in the same way that I learned to do over my 8 years of college education. I presently manage a boutique law firm in the Daytona Beach / Port Orange area and I am available for in person and online tutoring. I'm not an old school lawyer/teacher who is uptight and rigid in my mentality. I am youthful, aware of modern academic requirements, and I want to be flexible and know my audience to understand how they learn.
I have extensive experience and background in business, law, and public speaking. I practice family law, bankruptcy, personal injury, and some additional practice areas.
My public speaking is my job. My bread and butter. If I am not an effective orator, I will not be effective at my job. I have had many speaking engagements and I practice my skill before every courtroom presentation. I am pleased to say I was a first time pass on the Florida Bar Examination in 2012, an LSAT first time score that helped me gain acceptance to all 3 law schools applied to, a successful GMAT taker, and a master of law school exams. Not to mention, I have an undergraduate degree in paralegal studies, so I know how those programs work as well. Additionally, I have a background in business management and I have a bachelor's degree in business administration. In my present position at my own successful law practice I must handle all of my own accounting, marketing, and management. Please feel free to contact me about you tutoring needs in the areas of business, law, and public speaking. I am more than happy to assist you and accommodate your needs. I am flexible with schedule and travel. Tutoring and teaching is something that I have a passion for. I have teaching experience in the Volusia County Public School system and I can communicate information in an informative and easy-to-digest manner. I look forward to hearing from you.

My first lesson with Attorney Preston, basically an introduction on what I consider are my needs to achieve a passing grade in the Florida Bar. Also an introduction by him to me as an instructor and his teaching methodology. Very professional in his dealing with students.
Preston is friendly and knowledgeable. He provided some good preparation tips during our first session. I chose him because he is an experienced lawyer with his own firm and because he passed the bar on his first try because of his discipline.
Mr. Preston was very professional and gave me great advice. The session consisted of going over time management, ways and techniques to study and different approaches to the Florida bar exam. it was a great session. looking forward to working with Mr. Preston for bar prep.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a Juris Doctor and I passed my Florida Bar Examination on my first attempt in July of 2012. I am presently a practicing attorney and I have a specific method of study that helped me master the exam. I am a Florida practicing attorney in the areas of Family Law, Business Law, Personal Injury, Bankruptcy, etc.
I did my undergraduate studies in Business Administration. I have had successful completion of the GMAT exam, and I presently run my own small business. I handle my own marketing, accounting, and day to day operations. I am also extremely well versed in Business Law and legal and ethical issues that face businesses every day.
I have a Juris Doctorate and extensive knowledge and qualifications in the areas of criminal law and procedure. I also have a background working with a police department and experience in the courtroom workings of the criminal justice system. I understand the process from the time of arrest, all the way through to conviction, acquittal, and appeal. I am aware of statutory law and the mandatory sentences required, as well as the importance of the elements of each crime. Also important to know are issues of probably cause, reasonable suspicion, and the doctrine of the "fruit of the poisonous tree." Knowing the Constitutional requirements of police stops, treatment of the accused, rules of criminal evidence, and the trial system is extremely important for any criminal justice student. Don't go with anyone less trained than a licensed attorney to teach you about the ins and outs of the criminal justice system. 4 years of law school experience and a criminal justice background speak for itself. I look forward to assisting you with you study needs.
