I am very knowledgeable in accounting, bookkeeping, QuickBooks, finance, business, taxes, and related subjects.
I have practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for many years. During those years, I devoted a lot of time training our own employees and also used a lot of time explaining and assisting clients, and employees of clients, in varied accounting, bookkeeping, QuickBooks, finance, business, taxes, and related subjects to enable them to understand their particular situation(s). Earlier in my career, I tutored university accounting students. I, also, gave seminars for SCORE (division of the Small Business Administration) in the area of South Florida. The seminars dealt mostly with giving basic instruction and information to people interested in opening their own business. The seminars included a basic look at the varying legal entities that can be used and a brief discussion of their pros and cons, the different forms of bookkeeping and accounting, whether maintained manually or electronically and their pros and cons. Also, an explanation of the many types of taxes that a business owner should be familiar with including federal, state, and/or local corporate income taxes, individual income taxes, payroll related taxes, excise taxes, property taxes, sales and use taxes, licensing and other requirements. In addition, I explained about information reporting for various areas, mostly dealing with contractors used in business, and other business related requirements. Also, I provided training and assistance to employees and clients in the areas of business valuations, including valuations required by the taxing authorities and/or courts. I assisted businesses, their owners and employees, with start-up, accounting and tax considerations, legal considerations, capitalization and financing considerations, studying options of purchasing existing businesses, and other management related considerations. In addition, I assisted business clients with winding down of their businesses, and selling their businesses and the accounting, tax, legal and other practical implications, including assistance with the investment planning aftermath. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been working with QuickBooks as a practicing C.P.A. for close to, if not over, 20 years. The work has included setting up the QuickBooks account for our clients and assisting clients by training them.
