I believe in the success of every student! That has always been my motivation in all the years of my teaching career. As a teacher, I've always viewed successes in all my students. You know, Success comes in many steps, some in small steps and others in large bounds of steps. I have never tired of the exhilarating feeling that I would receive from a student when their "light blub" went on. Teaching has always been a rewarding and learning profession for me.
I just recently stopped teaching after 35 years in the field of education. However, I cannot say that teaching has left me. I have taught in the fields of Elementary Education and in ESOL ( English for Speakers of Other Languages). I also had experienced in middle school for six years.
My English skills are very strong. I speak, read, and write , two languages. I have taught writing in fourth grade for many years. My students always have shown proficiency growth in their writing skills as their final outcome on their state writing test demonstrated. Along with writing, reading is very essential. I have always fostered a Love for reading in my students. By modeling read-a-louds, reading with them, and reading independently in class, my students had the opportunity to discover new worlds without leaving the classroom.
As an Elementary Teacher in Florida, Common Core was part of my curriculum on a daily basis. Challenging my students in all areas of education, never lead my students to say the common phrase, "I'm bored". There was no time for boredom when your curriculum is designed to move you towards success.
Having taught and tutor in elementary education, my experience will bring students towards reaching their goals. Success in made when practice is placed in their learning.

Students need the grasp of the letter - sound relationship, in order, to decipher words. Once they do, the magic begins.
I look forward to hearing for you and helping you achieve the success you desire! I believe in the success of every student! That has always been my motivation in all the years of my teaching career. As a teacher, I've always viewed successes in all my students. You know, Success comes in many steps, some in small steps and others in large bounds of steps. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
