As a former high school English teacher and tutor for Score Educational Systems, a part of the Kaplan tutoring systems, I have had experience in tutoring for age groups 5-16. I have two areas of expertise, writing and test preparation. I have scored standardized test for the past 10 years and am able to help students prepare for state test such as FCAT and ISAT tests. In addition to tutoring language arts and writing, I have had experience in middle school math classes. I love helping students to gain confidence and feel secure in knowing how to learn and to build strong study skills.

Immediately after Nancy left my son said "I love Nancy"! In one session she built his confidence and made him comfortable with her as a tutor. She really cares about her students and their education.
Our son, who is a high school junior, has been struggling with English and we are so thankful to have Nancy as his English tutor. She helps him to understand the material as well as develop a confidence in his ability to solve problems. She is also very patient and responsible. We are quite surprised as to how much work was done in one hour with no complaints from our son and how much he likes her. I would highly recommend Nancy to anybody who is looking for an English tutor. She is great.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
